In this seminar, Roger Smith tackles the subjects of designer babies, donor siblings, transhumanism and nanotechnology. Mobilise Main Session Speakers
Submitted by Mobilise on 15 June, 2009 - 11:09The moment you've all been waiting for... We are excited to announce that the Mobilise main speakers this year will be:
Andrew Wilson, Tom Shaw and David Stroud.
This year, more than ever before, we have worked hard to create a cohesiveness between our three sessions. We shall be looking at the enormous theme of the cross and how the death of Jesus makes a difference for our lives and motivates us to mission in our campuses and workplaces. Paul, writing to the church in Corinth, declared: 'I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified' (1 Corinthians 2:2). If the cross of Jesus was such a powerful, all-absorbing subject for Paul, we are confident it will prove to be a phenomenally powerful and revelatory subject for us to look at!
In addition to these speakers, we will have the privilege of gathering with thousands of other leaders to receive teaching from Terry Virgo, Stef Liston, Joel Virgo, Steve Van Rhyn as well as a selection of fantastic seminar speakers.
So if you are not yet registered, can I urge you to get booked in before it's too late. This will be a conference you will not want to miss!
Mobilise, 7-10 July, Brighton, UK.
Why is Newfrontiers passionate about reaching University Students?
Submitted by Mobilise on 11 June, 2009 - 14:23Universities are places of phenomenal influence and opportunity; a tight-knit community of people who are asking the big questions about life. This environment is highly conducive for the gospel of God to spread like wild-fire.
Starting university is the ideal opportunity for school leavers to stand up for what they believe in; for boys to be turned into spiritual men and girls into spiritual women. It is our dream that in the coming years, whilst primary and secondary schools will be the places where basic education is taught and the fundamental lessons of life are learnt, university will be where, with breath-taking consistency, we see multitudes of cynics transformed into worshippers.
Moreover, universities are massive reservoirs of the leaders of tomorrow. The business world realised this long ago, and finally it seems that the church is catching up. If we are going to have any hope of planting a thousand churches in the UK, there can be no doubt that, of the countless numbers who will form these churches, many will first catch something of this vision whilst at university.
Worldwide the number of students has increased from 60,000,000 to 120,000,000 in the last decade. That is why we are so passionate about student work and about planting churches with a vision to impact the university campuses! In the UK alone, as the government looks for up to 50% of school leavers to go on to university, over three million young people could enter into full-time higher education in the next few years. In order to mine this precious resource, the need for intentional, pro-active, church-based student ministries is greater than ever before.

In August a band of budding missionaries will be heading to Malmö, Sweden for a week of work with the Newfrontiers church in that city, impacting the community through social action, outreach, prophetic evangelism and much more!
This trip is the first of its kind, and so can I encourage you, over the coming weeks and months, to keep this team in your thoughts and prayers.
Mobilise has always been about more than simply gathering together for an event in the summer. The clue is in the name. It’s about raising up, mobilising and sending leaders to bring about the Kingdom of God all across this earth.
