Exasol released the findings of a survey of nearly 1,000 IT directors in the US, UK and Germany about their organization’s use of data and the role of Chief Data Officers (CDO) in their organizations. The survey found – among other things – that 72% of businesses worry that their inability to generate insights through the analysis of data will have a negative impact on financial performance. The research report also includes findings from other studies and reports looking at the major trends in this area.
Additional findings include:
- 77% respondents stating that data is now their organization’s most valuable asset
- 82% of businesses agreed that data analysis speeds will become more important over the next 18 months
- 67% of respondents said they were not comfortable accessing or using data from the available tools and resources
