In this report, Ponemon Institute is pleased to present the findings of Big Data Cybersecurity Analytics, sponsored by Cloudera. The purpose of this study is to understand the current state of cybersecurity big data analytics and how Apache Hadoop1 based cybersecurity applications intersect with cybersecurity big data analytics. In this study, Ponemon surveyed 592 IT and IT security practitioners in the United States and 10 cybersecurity technology executives at 10 unique organizations that have built applications on Apache Hadoop. To ensure a knowledgeable respondent, Ponemon confirmed that all participants are in organizations using some form of big data analytics and they are knowledgeable about the technology. Some of these participants are users of the Apache Hadoop platform.
