New SGI Scale-out Solution for SAP HANA Does Real-Time Applications
Today SGI announced that enterprises can now leverage the Intel-based SGI UV 300H server in a multi-node cluster (scale out) to run SAP Business Warehouse (SAP BW) on SAP HANA or new SAP BW/4HANA. Unique to SGI, the cluster nodes can later be reconfigured as single-node systems with 1 to 32TB of shared memory (scale up) to run SAP S/4HANA and other real-time applications. “For large enterprises that plan to migrate to SAP S/4HANA but wish to begin their journey to SAP HANA with SAP BW, our new SGI cluster offering is unquestionably the optimal solution,” said Jorge Titinger, president and CEO, SGI. “The scalability of the SGI UV 300H architecture coupled with our expertise in mission-critical environments provides an ideal path to real-time business with SAP HANA.”
insideHPC Guide to Successful Technical Computing
This paper offers those considering HPC, both users and managers, guidance when considering the best way to deploy an HPC solution. Three important questions are suggested that help determine the most appropriate HPC design (scale-up or scale out) that meets your goal and accelerates your discoveries.
SGI UV 300RL Speeds In-Memory Analytics with Oracle Databases
Today SGI, a global leader in high-performance solutions for compute, data analytics, and data management introduced the SGI UV 300RL for big data in-memory analytics. As a new model in the SGI UV server line certified and supported with Oracle Linux, the SGI UV 300RL provides up to 32 sockets and 24 terabytes of shared memory. The solution enables enterprises that have standardized on Intel-based servers to run Oracle Database In-Memory on a single system to help achieve real-time operations and accelerate data analytics at unprecedented scale.
SGI Deploys over 200 Terabytes in Total Systems Running SAP HANA
Today SGI announced that global deployments of the SGI UV 300H single-node system provide in total over 200 Terabytes of in-memory computing capacity to organizations running the SAP HANA platform. Introduced just one year ago, more than 50 SGI UV 300H systems have been installed in organizations to run a variety of applications on SAP HANA, including the SAP ERP, SAP Supply Chain Management (SCM), SAP Bank Analyzer, and SAP Business Warehouse applications, as well as advanced analytics.
SGI UV Appliance for SAP HANA Certified for up to 16 Sockets and 12 TB in-memory
Today SGI announced their SGI UV for SAP HANA appliance has been certified to run the SAP HANA platform on up to 16 sockets in controlled availability environments. With this extension of the SGI UV appliance, the SGI solution can provide up to 12 terabytes (TB) of in-memory computing capacity in a single node. SAP-certified at 4- and 8-sockets just last fall, the highly scalable and configurable architecture of the SGI appliance helps enable enterprises running SAP HANA to achieve real-time business at ever-greater scale and lower total cost of ownership.
SGI UV for SAP HANA Enables Real-time Big Data
Today SGI introduced the SGI UV for SAP HANA, a purpose-built, in-memory computing appliance for growing environments running the SAP HANA platform.
